Mets report to camp early

Though pitchers and catchers are not set to report until Saturday, a good number of the New York Mets have reported to camp early down in Port St. Lucie Florida. Joining them is manager Terry Collins who will also welcome newcomers Bartolo Colon, Curtis Granderson and Chris Young. The full squad is required to report by next Tuesday.

Said Carlos Torres, the right-handed pitcher who is expected to have a key role out of the bullpen, "Better early than late. Anxious to get things going,"  Pitchers reporting early are soft tossing and from the looks of things players in camp are in shape and hoping to make the trip to New York for opening day at Citi Field against the Washington Nationals on Monday March 31.
