CC Sabathia and Robinson Cano were teammates on the Yankees and are still teaming up for charity.

Sabathia’s PitCCh In Foundation and Cano’s RC22 Foundation will host the Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game at Barclays Center on Thursday, August 21 at 8 p.m.

Sabathia and Cano will serve as captains to two celebrity basketball teams, which will be announced closer to the game. All ticket proceeds from the event will serve to benefit both PitCCh In Foundation and RC22 Foundation equally. The event aims to increase opportunities for underserved youth in the areas of education, wellness and fitness.

The Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game will feature a celebrity basketball game showdown between Team Sabathia and Team Cano, a dunk performance, 3-point competition, half court contest, live auction and more as Radio and TV Host Angie Martinez  will be the master of ceremony.

“We are excited to bring our two charities together under one common goal,” Sabathia said.

“We will be bringing spectators, including many youth groups, under the Barclays Center roof for an entertaining game and rewarding experience,” Cano said.

Robinson Cano’s RC22 Foundation aims to positively impact the lives of underserved children and communities both locally and globally by improving outcomes in the areas of youth development and community healthcare. These two foundations will come together to present the Summer Classic Charity Basketball Game at Barclays Center, with the proceeds benefiting specific projects within each foundation. The RC22 Foundation will use all proceeds for Dream Schools in the Dominican Republic, while The PitCCh In Foundation will focus on baseball field renovation.
